Caporale Consulting has developed a proprietary process that enables us to accelerate testing of products. Our process allows us to replicate a month of shelf life in only one week.
Heat Testing
This accelerated test reveals the product's susceptibility to oxidation & browing. It will also reveal if there are any unstable proteins or color pigments.
Cold Testing
This accelerated test shows if there will be any deposition of solids due to settling or insolubility issues. Any potential ringing issues in orange colored liquids will also be revealed.
Light Testing
This test will indicate any color changes from light exposure of product stored on the top shelf of a store. Especially for yellow, orange, pink or green liquids.
Microbiological Testing
This test will show the time when microbiological levels become commercially too high.
Timing
One week of accelerated conditions (24 hours per day for 7days) is equivalent to one month of shelf life at 70*F
Example: 12 months of shelf life confirmation can be accomplished in 12 weeks of accelerated testing.
Samples Required Per Product
One Test: i.e. Heat
1 control sample and 1 sample per month of shelf life confirmation desired.
Example: 12 months of accelerated testing will need 1 control sample and 12 testing samples for a total of 13 samples.
24 months of accelerated testing will need 1 control sample and 24 testing samples for a total of 25 samples.
Two Tests: i.e. Heat & Cold
1 control sample and 2 samples (1 for each test – Heat & Cold) per month of shelf life confirmation desired.
Example: 12 months of accelerated testing will need 1 control sample and 24 testing samples for a total of 25 samples.
24 months of accelerated testing will need 1 control sample and 48 testing samples for a total of 49 samples.
